Run Turkey Run!

We (as in my work) host an annual Turkey Trot 5K and I had the opportunity to participate in it this year for the first time.

It was rainy and cold and I heard that the turnout was very low because of the weather conditions.  Since I am getting used to running in the rain, it really didn’t bother me that much, except my toes were cold and wet but I had the right amount of clothing to stay cool.

I had a heck-of-a-great-time!  I actually think that having my peers watch and cheer me on made a huge difference.  I have a new PR!  My average pace was 07:54 per mile!  I was shocked and happy at the same time.

It was a great event and I know that my coworkers put an amazing amount of work into making this a special time for all who participate.  After the event, the HR team invited me to join them for brunch at a local restaurant called George’s.  These guys are very dear to me (including the ones not on the picture).

I am grateful that I get to work with amazing people and I am also grateful that they have a running event that I can participate in!

Wishing you and your loved ones I very special Thanksgiving Day!
